International training session

ToMIMeUS

An international training session took place between 20th -24th of September 2021 within the ToMiMEUs strategic partnership project (Towards a Multisensory and Inclusive Museum for Individuals with Sensory Disabilities), funded by the Erasmus + program.

The session was dedicated to training museum staff in four countries (Romania, Hungary, Greece and Turkey) in order to remove barriers that complicate access to museums for people with visual or hearing impairments. The session was preceded by two preparatory seminars with online development, held by specialists from BabeČ™-Bolyai University and the University of Thessaly in Greece.

The representatives of the participating museums presented their experience in the field and the expectations they have from this course. Positive experiences were highlighted both by the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, through the program of tactile kits for educational institutions, and by the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania, the coordinating institution of the project.
